Very enlightening articles on the usefulness of podcasting in the classroom.
Every time I read something related to podcasting I want to know more :)... With these readings the topic is clearer and clearer. Thanks....Mariana Hernández
The readings are very interesting. They introduce to the subject and provide information to plan before to start producing podcasts. The quiz is the right complement to reinforce what we read before.
The readings are great! They summaise the advantages of using podcasting in collaborative projects really well!:-)
Hello Mariana,Other resources for learning more about podcasting are:http://www.podcasting-tools.com/http://www.scoop.it/t/podcasts
Rose, Planning is a key phase in producing a good podcast episode. I am glad you think about the quiz as a way to reinforce the main concepts.
Katerina and Thushara,We are glad you find the readings informative and useful.
I enjoyed the readings, now I'm ready to practice doing week 4 tasks...Thanks!
All the reading articles are great, give very precise explanations about podcasting and very stimulating and encouraging.
I really enjoyed the readings. They give good ideas how to use podcasts in ESL classrooms - now the real challenge is implementing what we've read! I also enjoyed taking the quiz even though I found the ads a bit annoying.
Laura, we are looking forward to listening to your podcasts for this week.
Sara,You are right. Podcasting can be challenging to implement in the classroom. However, there are so many tools and options. You can start with small tasks such as the one for week 4 until more detailed projects like the ones participants are proposing in this session.
Valeriya,We are glad you find the readings stimulating. We hope you use some of the ideas about podcasting in your classroom.
There are so many interesting ways to use podcasting in the classroom! I'd like to try story-telling, and giving comments to any information. Thanks for sharing. The articles are very useful!Svetalana Rovenskikh(Russia)
Hello Svetalana,Story-telling is always a great activity to do with students with different ages. There are tools that allow you to upload pictures (like in podomatic, that also has the option of doing minicasts) so you can illustrate your narration. You may be interested in trying tools such as fotobabble (http://www.fotobabble.com/ ) that are really simple to use with students.
In case anyone is interested, when I was a participant in this session in 2011, I did my Week 3 Skype interview with Anne Fox, and the podcast is here: http://nliakos.podbean.com/2011/01/26/nina-liakos-interview-with-anne-fox/Cheers from cold Maryland,Nina
I agree with all of the participants, specially with Mariana because these readings made this topic of podcasting more clearer for me. The readings are very interesting and the quiz is excellent. It makes you fix important points. Now I'll try to implement what I read in my project.
Graciela,What important points have you fixed after reading the articles? We are looking forward to learning more about your project.
I finally started working on Week 4 activities, so read the articles hastily and will get back to them later on. Anyway, I passed the quiz with 11/12, so I bet I can proceed to activities now.
this week has been such a hard one! I've started a new course on the use of the i-pad in class! I knew that the 2 courses were going to overlap but I thought I could manage instead I got left behind. Now I've just finished to do the reading part + quiz which showed that now at least I can understand what we are talking about! thank you for the choice of the readings, there are so many links and sites to visit and so many podcasts to listen to that I spent the all morning doing it! see you in the afternoon
Finally, I too have been able to read the required readings and try the quiz. I find both required readings for week 4 really informative with ample links and quoted resources for further study and research. Especially the "Tools for Teks" gives valuable information about the question of authentic communication and about strengths and weaknesses that podcasting offers.
